POLIEPOX TP
Epoxy polyamide enamel modified for the painting of exposed metal surfaces in extremely aggressive atmospheric conditions
|
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
POLIEPOX TP is made up of epoxy-vinyl resins, pigments and appropriate additives. It hardens by reaction with TP Hardener, forms a film with a half-lustre finish, impermeable, of extreme hardness with optimal chemical resistance even if exposed in industrial environments or anyway very aggressive ones.

METHOD OF APPLICATION
Preparation of the support: The support to coat should not exhibit traces of oil, grease, calamine or oxide. Cleaning can be done manually or with solvents, brushes, abrasive disk, etc. Optimal results are obtained by applying POLIRPOX TP on surfaces already primed with BONDEPOX CZ or BONDEPOX PZ.
APPLICATION OF PRIMER To obtain better results of adhesion and resistance to corrosion it is recommended to apply a primer before the coats of POLlEPOX TP. Indicated primers are: (as an alternative): - BONDEPOX CZ: epoxy primer in two components with optimal anticorrosive properties both as an effective barrier and for passive effect, (see technical sheet). - BONDEPOX PZ: zinc epoxy primer, performs its anticorrosive action both for its barrier effect and for its electrochemical effect, thanks to the galvanic protection of the metallic zinc content present in the product, (see technical sheet). |

PREPARATION OF THE MIXTURE POLIEPOX TP + TP HARDENER To the bucket containing POLIEPOX TP add all of the contents of the bucket with TP HARDENER, mix thoroughly with spatula or helical agitator. The packagings are already predisposed to the following ratios.
POLIEPOX TP :100 parts in weight TP HARDENER : 25 parts in weight
Whenever the viscosity of the mixture is too high for the type of application chosen, dilute with appropriate TM THINNERS until obtaining an optimal viscosity. In general the viscosity can vary between 5 and 30% Viscosity of application at 20°C (Ford 4): 20 sec. After mixing POLIEPOX TP with TP HARDENER the hardening reaction begins which is faster the higher the temperature of the products and the quantity of mixture prepared. At a temperature of 20°C, a mass of 18.75 Kg of mixture should be applied within 4 hours. A greater dilution will permit a longer pot life. |

APPLICATION OF THE MIXTURE POLIEPOX TP + TP HARDENER
POLIEPOX TP 4- TP HARDENER can be applied with air-less gun, or with brush or roller. (Immediately after the application clean the tools, by washing them with TM Thinner).
During the application and for 48 hours after, the temperature of the support should remain between 5°C and 35°C; the relative humidity should not exceed 85%. In any case, during the application the support should be perfectly dry and there should be a total absence of condensate.
Average thickness per coat :50-80 microns
Average practical yield :4-5 m2/Kg for a thickness of 80 microns
Drying at 25°C :dust dry : 1 hour
: Complete : 24 hours
Use of the article : after 48 hours
FEATURES OF THE COATING AFTER COMPLETE HARDENING
(thickness of 60 microns)
